Well, I am not a big fan of companies changing their usability model, and this is no different.
Blogger is going to stop allowing the use of FTP to publish blogs. I have been a member of Blogger for years, and as long as
sk0t.com has been in existence, I have used FTP to publish my blog.
According to
BloggerBuzz, only 0.5% of the blogger users use FTP to publish their blogs... that seems awfully low to me... but who am I to argue with their statistics.
Anyways... to make a short story even shorter, I am still with Blogger, despite the change. I thought about migrating to Wordpress, but I do not have the time nor desire to do the small things that are required in a migration, and make the code work with Wordpress.
I am still here though!

Early 2010 Update
Well, I know it has been a few months since I have posted last, and I apologize, but with school finishing, and work, it has been hard to really find the time to post.
Let me update you with what has been going on... NOTHING.
School is starting back up.
Work is good, and I love my job.
And the family is good. -> I am getting married on May 8th. (WOOT)
So far so good.
Been doing Jiu-Jitsu real hard lately...
Everything is good.

Update
I thought it was about time I put out an update. It has been a while since I have had the time to post anything.
Family is good. Great actually, Jeni has been a little sick, but she is recovering, and Kailyn is good, getting very smart (too smart) in the second grade.
Jiu-Jitsu is just as good as it has ever been. I am teaching a Blue Belt preparation class on Wednesday nights, and it is fun to teach, and refine my own techniques.
School is good, long days, short nights, same as always, still fun.
Other than that, there is nothing else to report. I am just working (at Penn State), learning (school and the 'J'), and having a good time with my family.
What else is there?

Realizations...
It has taken me over 2 years to realize this, but I finally have come to the conclusion that I still have a lot to work through before I will feel as though it is all past me... I just fear that everyday that I go through... I will always wish for tomorrow.

Destiny
By all accounts, we are living in a trying time. Our economy has all but collapsed. Our faith in a world that is free and strong has faded to black. And our ability to recover from this situation is in serious question.... then we dig deeper.
Jen's grandfather died last night around 9PM. He was a tall, skinny man. He was in his 70s, and wore his age well. He spent most of his time tending to his church and preaching at the local prison, and making sure that people heard the Word of God. He had quite a few children, I think 8 total. He ran his own business for over 40 years and provided quite well for his family. By all accounts, we are living in a trying time. With our economy, faith, and future in question... the world lost a good man last night. A man who earned his right as the patriarch of Jen's family. He left behind a legacy for all to see: husband, father, grandfather, business owner, and pastor; each of which carries its own.
Let us not live by our deeds though, but by the memories that we leave in the hearts of those we have touched.
I didn't know you well Roger, but I do know your children, and their children, and if they are any indication of the man that you were... then you sir have made your mark.

Ubuntu 9.04: Jaunty Jackalope
Finally, I have gotten around to installing Ubuntu back on my desktop.
After taking Windows 7 off of this, and putting on Ubuntu, I remember why it was so hard to migrate back to Windows after prison.
The last version of Ubuntu I used was 7.04: Feisty Fawn.
